As a Web Developer you will be responsible for working closely with our product development team on a number of web-based, user interfaces and programming projects.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement product and platform features
• Be part of our product management team
• Developing programming code from scratch or by adapting existing website graphics and software to meet business requirements
• Developing code that is secure against all forms of injection
• Testing and identifying any bugs, technical problems and glitches
• Database management, form development and integration into our platform

Skill Requirements:

• 2 years experience with web application development using PHP
• 2 years with HTML/CSS/Javascript/Ajax with strong Web User Interface principles
• 2 years with Object-Oriented Programming
• Understanding of integrating third-party web services using API’s
• Knowledge of PHP Framework (Zend Framework, PEAR Framework)
• Knowledge of jQuery, AJAX, XML, XHTML Web Standard, CSS
• Knowledge of PHP MVC Design Pattern
• Knowledge of version control system, SVN, CVS, GIT
• Experience and current knowledge of Linux O/S & Apache
• Good interpersonal, communication and documentation skills
• Computer science degree/diploma preferred
• Experience with other programming languages an asset (.NET, Java, HTML5, CSS3)
• Knowledge of international web standards and protocols (W3C, WCAG2, HTTP)
• Ability to work individually or in a team to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to adapt and pick up new techniques and technology
• Ability to perform technical analysis based on business and technical requirements
• Having experience with the following systems is an asset: Ubersmith (billing system), Silverstripe/Sapphire (CMS system)
